Regional supplies

 What you need to know

Why does Lexmark regionalize supplies?

As part of our brand protection efforts, we customize supplies for different geographic regions. Grey market supplies are supplies sold outside their intended geographic region.

Lexmark Regional Supplies for genuine cartridge or toner

We’ve found that grey market supplies shipments are often mixed with counterfeit supplies. Counterfeit supplies used in a Lexmark printer can cause poor product performance, reliability issues and print quality problems. Our supplies regionalization strategy helps us minimize the amount of grey market products and eliminates a path to market for counterfeit supplies.

Lexmark supplies include region-specific packaging featuring local languages, unique identifiers and region-specific cartridge recycling instructions. Learn how to check if your cartridge is genuine.

Have you moved to another country or region?

When you purchase a Lexmark printer, it automatically customizes itself to accept cartridges specific to your country or region. If you move and take your printer with you to another country, you may not be in the same supplies region. Although you may find Lexmark cartridges that appear to be compatible with your printer, they will not work. Please contact us so we can resolve this issue for you by resetting your printer.

We need you to do the following things before you contact us to reset your printer:

1. Buy a complete set of supplies for your new country or region
Please use the Color Supplies and Mono Supplies Regions charts to identify the correct supplies for your new country or region.

2. Connect your Lexmark printer to a computer with internet access
