Optional Device Information sent to Lexmark

At Lexmark, we are committed to delivering the best possible experience for our customers and are always looking for opportunities to improve our award-winning product line.

Allowing your device to send data to Lexmark is a simple and easy way to provide information to help us understand how our devices are used. However, no data will be sent to Lexmark unless you choose to enable this function – device data sharing is not enabled by default. If you choose to participate, your device will, depending upon what data you choose to share, periodically send Lexmark a summary of its usage and performance data. In accordance with our privacy principles and notice (please see link at the bottom of this page), none of the data delivered to Lexmark is associated with you. (There is a minimal chance that the data shared through this program could be associated with you if you were to call Lexmark for technical assistance but Lexmark does not actively pursue making this type of association.)

Information is sent to Lexmark over your Internet connection.  You can choose to start or stop sending information at any time by adjusting the settings on your device.

Messaging displayed on the screen might be slightly different depending on model of printer and code version.

There are two types of information that can be sent:

  1. Supplies and page usage information such as the number of pages and toner levels. This information helps Lexmark better understand how customers use our products.
  2. Device performance information, such as device errors, sensor and motor monitoring. This information helps Lexmark understand device performance and enable a higher level of service. (Please note, choosing to share Device performance information automatically includes the Supplies and Page information described in #1 above).

All data is related to how the device functions or is used and does not contain any information on the identity of any user or any of the content of documents that are printed, scanned, copied, emailed, or faxed using the device.
