Scanning to Medical Records
Lexmark’s Document scanning and routing capability allows you to capture patient records that are not electronic, such as those records returning from a purchase care facility referral, and store those scanned images into the patient’s existing electronic medical record. Implemented in conjunction with Lexmark’s bar-code printing, the patient referral could include the patient information on the bar-code, which makes the capture easy when returned as the Lexmark multifunction printer can read and interpret the bar code.
If this capability is combined with Lexmark’s queue and view application, the MTF, Hospital, or clinic can scan the records and then have a station for viewing and coding the patient records into VISTA or AHLTA. This process ensures patient records are captured without error, and speeds up the process.
