Lexmark creates Material Safety Data Sheets and Safety Data Sheets for printer cartridges. For recently released printer models, these documents are available in North American, European Union, and/or Australian formats. Multiple languages may be available within the North American and European Union formats.
The cartridge part number is the most direct way to locate a MSDS/SDS. You will generally find the PN on a Lexmark cartridge, located here:
For most Lexmark cartridges released after 2008, there are three formats:
North American Format (NA) - written to comply with the regulations of the US, Canada, and Mexico. These MSDSs will be authored in English, Spanish (for Mexico), and French (for Canada).
European Format (EU REACH) – written to comply with the REACH regulations in the EU and available in English, Bulgarian, French, Italian, German, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Spanish, Slovakian, and Swedish. Some of these translations are designed to include the regulatory requirements of more than one country.
Australian Format (Aust) – written to comply with Australian regulations and available in English, only.
For cartridges released prior to 2008, there is a mix of formats - developed to meet US OSHA requirements and available in English. MSDS documents are in PDF format and require Adobe Acrobat Reader.
