PR AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Job Summary:

The PR and Communications Manager will be responsible for the success of the operations and activities related to the PR and Internal Communications for Lexmark Research and Development Corporation (LRDC). 

The role will lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to support Employer Branding, Employee Engagement and Culture, and General PR and Communications.  

To support the mission and scope, the PR and CM Communications Manager will lead a team of specialists in the field of PR, communications, employee branding, social media marketing, content creation, and internal communications.  

Your typical day will include the following:

  • Leading and guiding the strategic PR and Employer Branding Initiatives.
  • Collaborating with the different executives, area leaders, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and ensure the effective execution of key initiatives.
  • Leading and guiding the team in terms of the technical aspects of PR management, planning and execution, project management, and internal communications design and administration, and marketing support.
  • Demonstrating self-direction, teamwork, innovation, and risk-taking in your decisions, actions, and management style.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Employer Branding
    • Direct the employer brand experience strategy to showcase the best of Lexmark as an employer of choice.
    • Define the strategic targets for our brand health, leverage metrics and use these to drive global employer brand insights and innovation.
    • Direct Lexmark’s social media strategy and execution to support Lexmark branding.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture
    • Direct the employee engagement strategy: create and publish engaging and inspirational content that engages and inspires current employees and promotes Lexmark to prospective future employees and the public.
    • Direct the development of strategic plans to define, develop, and institutionalize the fulfillment of the Lexmark culture through pillars such as the Lexmark values, the Lexmark Employer Value Proposition, diversity and inclusion, and other cultural anchors and drivers.
  • PR and Communications
    • Direct the public relations and communication strategies, campaigns, or programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public and internal image for the company.
    • Serve as consultant to support HR’s recruitment, employee engagement, and advertising communication programs.
    • Represent Lexmark publicly at interviews, press conferences, and presentations.
    • Be an active participant in industry-related conferences and educational opportunities and grow industry networks on a professional level.

  • Quality of output, service, and support.
  • Manage stakeholder priorities, ensuring proper planning, scheduling and allocation of personnel/resources.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to better understand expectations and requirements.
  • Manage the team’s overall processes to ensure that deliverables meet quality expectations and are on-target with strategic timelines.
  • Manage towards streamlined process to ensure efficiency and efficacy.
  • Develop, motivate and inspire the team by providing clear direction, leadership and mentorship.
  • Cultivate an environment in which there are professional growth opportunities within a satisfying environment.
  • Monitor and improve skills and quality of work of the team and be quick to address any problem areas by providing necessary feedback, coaching and training.
  • Ensure proper communications and feedback to key stakeholders. Meet regularly with stakeholders to determine priorities, relay project progress and adjust priorities according to business strategy.
  • Build monthly productivity reports for stakeholders.
  • Support ad hoc requests from Cebu and other Geographies GBS and other business units as needed.
  • Support and enforce the adherence of marketing materials to Lexmark branding guidelines.
  • Process optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Plan and administer the working budget for communications, branding, and employee engagement campaigns.

Education, Experience and Certifications Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years PR or Communications experience or management experience or leadership role in a similar industry or function.
  • Proven success managing, developing and motivating people.
  • Clear, concise written and oral communication with superior command of English language.
  • A four-year degree is required, preferably in a related field such as PR, Communications, Marketing, Business, or Management.
  • Excellent business English communication skills and effective at handling operational discussions and strategic discussion with counterparts both local and foreign.
