PR AND COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Job Summary:

This position will report directly to the Site Operations Manager and will have a key role in all employer branding, employee engagement, public relations and communications efforts in support of Lexmark’s corporate and culture strategies.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in executing the employer branding, employee engagement, and PR and communication strategies, positioning its business activities and community service efforts locally, nationally, and internationally. In collaboration with global Lexmark stakeholders, the successful candidate will be at the forefront of external insights and trends, conceptualizing and implementing culture and engagement initiatives and communication plans and distributing content through various media channels.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Employer Branding
    • Plan, create, and publish engaging and inspirational content that engages and inspires current employees, and promotes Lexmark to prospective future employees and the general public
    • Own brand health metrics and use these to drive global employer brand insights and innovation
    • Lead and deliver innovation and design of core employer brand assets and campaigns with the Marketing Communications team
    • Develop a strong brand positioning for external sites (career site and job portals) and internal platforms (Unily, etc.)
  • Employee Engagement and Culture
    • Conceptualize and implement global Lexmark culture and engagement initiatives and integrated marketing and communications campaigns, aligning employee understanding, motivation, and behaviors toward organizational goals and increasing employee engagement and retention
    • Support the operationalization of LRDC employee engagement events, and logistical planning and execution where necessary, ensuring preparation of budgets, programs, and timelines in order to strengthen company values and boost employee engagement
    • Monitor progress against goals as well as metrics related to the effectiveness of the different Lexmark culture initiatives and programs, and recommend improvements to drive their achievement
  • PR and Communications
    • Plan and direct public relations and communication strategies, campaigns, or programs designed to create and maintain a favorable public and internal image for the company
    • Write and deliver press releases, features, media relations content, case studies, executive bios, corporate news, social media content, and speeches that are required for internal and external communications
    • Develop, execute, and measure effectiveness of public relations and integrated marketing communication campaigns
    • Copyedit, proofread, and revise external and internal communications
    • Oversee and produce, from concept to completion, materials for industry award submissions and external partnerships
    • Coordinate conference and press interviews
  • Others
    • Research media coverage and industry trends
    • Manage the information database related to PR and communications

Education, Experience and Certifications Basic Requirements:

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in a Communication or Marketing related course
  • Has a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field of corporate communications or in a comparable area (e.g., Public Relations, Marketing, Event Management, Content Creation, Advertising)
  • Must have excellent research, writing and content development skills, comfortable preparing proposals, presentations and speaking in front of groups
  • Has the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines; strong relationships (or the ability to develop strong relationships) with media and industry influencers
  • Has experience creating win-win partnerships with external organizations relevant to the brand
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office and PR databases, and experienced in utilizing various social media channels to promote corporate initiatives and to deliver employer brand messages
  • Must also have strong organizational, problem solving and people skills to be able to adapt and lead in a rapidly changing business environment
  • Intellectual curiosity, teamwork, and high levels of judgment, discretion, responsiveness and initiative are also required
