The successful candidate will play a critical role in elevating and expanding IT’s visibility into all aspects of project and cost center financial management by leading a team of skilled professionals to standardize, implement and maintain financial processes, tools and reports.  The primary objective is to effectively track and manage IT financials across the enterprise.  This role is responsible for maintaining detailed project financial information associated with all projects on the IT Strategic Roadmap and knowing where things stand in relation to the current year’s plan, outlook and appropriations.  Must work effectively with IT Team Leads, PMs and Corporate Finance to proactively plan, outlook, and reconcile cost center and project financials.  A technical background is not required; however, a working knowledge of IT is a plus.  Must have working knowledge of SAP SRM modules and be proficient in the use of financial management methods.  Must also be an effective leader of people and communicator (written and oral).


 

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Coordinate and manage a team of skilled professionals responsible for maintaining project and cost center financial information 
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, key business users, and upper management on a regular basis to convey project financial health.
  • Time sheet tracking for contract personnel in the FPO team
  • Handling procurement related activities including purchase request creation and tracking, receipt of service tracking, and invoice tracking 
  • Understand and be able to apply FASB’s SOP-98 and ASC-350-40 guidelines pertaining to internally developed software costs and confirm costs are applied appropriately to capital and expense
  • Prepare budget presentations for project steering committee meetings
  • Accountable for managing the budget details and knowing where the budget is in relation to the plan, outlook and appropriation
  • Ensure outlooks in Project Systems are current
  • Review SOWs for content and funding
  • Work with managers to correctly allocate Lexmark project resources to projects and monitor this allocation
  • Monitor project spend through ECC & BI
  • Prepare financial outlook documentation during the appropriation process
  • Lead monthly meetings with Project Manager and Team Lead to update the Detailed
     

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Cost Center Owners – worldwide in developing and reporting their monthly, quarterly and yearly expense budgets
  • Provide monthly reports to cost center owners and upper management detailing actuals versus plan and guidance
  • Provide detailed expense analysis to cost center owners and management
  • Perform trend analysis and benchmarking support
  • Work with Corporate Finance as our IT finance liaison
  • Anticipate, communicate, and work to mitigate project financial risks
  • Support financial partners
  • Manage annual capital OL with Sr. Business Partner Manager
  • Update Project Systems with proposal outlooks (w/ Sr. BP Manager)
  • Lead monthly budget review
  • Analyze capital & expense project report & measure to plan, outlook and appropriated funding
  • Create Reports / Modify existing reports with SAP team
  • Lead financial planning sessions for new projects
  • Lead investigation on PWC inquiries as required
  • Create & maintain project tracking templates
  • Assist IT Business Partners in expense related activities
  • Schedule & lead meetings with cost center owners, CIO & Mgmt team
  • Analyze cost center spend
  • Create / Update finance reports
  • Maintain SOW and CR templates with the SBM team
  • Maintain FPO Innovate Site
  • Escalate CR & SOW documents as needed
  • Work with the Fieldglass team to enhance our process
  • Update Reference Documentation on Innovate Site
  • Develop training materials & conduct training sessions
     

Work Experience / Skills:

  • 7-10+ years of practical experience in finance or accounting.  A strong financial/accounting background would be a plus
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and bridge financial discrepancies  
  •  Must possess the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to target audiences at all levels
  • Confident, diplomatic and credible presence for liaising with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organization  
  • Organized and able to function at all three levels of the enterprise; tactical, operational, and strategic
  • Proven leadership among superiors, peers, and subordinates

Educational Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree (Business, Finance, or Accounting background preferred)
