—Gartner, Inc. “Magic Quadrant for MFPs and Printers, Worldwide” by Sharon McNee, Federicao De Silva, Zalak Shah October 24, 2012

The Gartner Magic Quadrant positions vendors according to their “ability to execute” and their “completeness of vision” in delivering multifunction products (MFPs) and printers. According to the report, “The traditional speeds and feeds for typical office printing, such as output quality (for example, dots per inch and engine speed), have given way to the hardware's ability to integrate and deploy software applications that connect them to the company's document management systems. Remote monitoring capabilities, diagnostics, security, cloud printing and other factors are becoming the true differentiators.”
