Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) today announced that, with the introduction of its 2007 product line, Lexmark will offer customers the broadest, most affordable range of wireless printers in the market. Pricing starts at $79.99¹.

Demonstrating its commitment to leadership in wireless printing, eight out of Lexmark’s 12 new inkjet printers being introduced in 2007 will have wireless capabilities spanning four-in-one, three-in-one and single-function printer categories.

Available in the second quarter of 2007 are the Lexmark X4550 Wireless All-in-One (AIO), the Lexmark Z1420 Wireless Color Printer, and the Lexmark X3550 Color All-in-One with wireless as an optional feature. All three are backed by one of the best manufacturer’s warranties in the printing industry — Lexmark's exclusive Protection Guarantee² featuring next business day replacement for up to one year after purchase.

The remaining wireless offerings will be introduced and available later this year. Once the full line is available, it will include six inkjet printers with integrated wireless and two with optional wireless capability.

However, because of the high price of existing wireless printers and the complexity of use, consumers have been slow to adopt wireless printing. Wireless printing enables users to print with the same freedom and mobility they enjoy when working on a wireless laptop computer. Users can place the printer anywhere in the home covered by their wireless networks. In addition, multiple computer users can enjoy the added convenience of sharing the same wireless printer, eliminating the need for multiple devices.

Lexmark X4550 Wireless All-in-One
For busy consumers who require the robust functionality of an AIO to maximize their productivity at home, the new Lexmark X4550 is the most affordable three-in-one printer in the inkjet market with built-in wireless³ capability. At $129.99¹, the X4550 allows users to work seamlessly from any location in their home or office, delivering professional quality text and photos. It prints at speeds up to 26 pages per minute (ppm) black and 18 ppm color⁴. In addition to fast print speeds and affordability, the Lexmark X4550 offers a broad range of functions for productivity-minded professionals, including photo functionality, copying and scanning.

This printer also:

Lexmark Z1420 Wireless Color Printer
The Lexmark Z1420 single function is the most affordable wireless³ printer in the inkjet market⁶. Priced at $79.991, it delivers print speeds up to 24 ppm black and 18 ppm color⁴. Users can print brilliant borderless photos up to 8.5-by-11 inches, using new photo editing software. In addition to the new wireless and wireless optional devices, Lexmark has introduced two new entry-level printers, the Lexmark X2500 Color All-in-One and the Lexmark Z1300 Single-Function Inkjet Printer. Both offer advanced printhead technology and Lexmark's vibrant evercolor inks for exceptional quality and value.

An ideal choice for students and other budget-conscious consumers, the Lexmark X2500 AIO, priced at $59.99¹, is among the fastest AIOs in its class, with speeds up to 22 ppm black and 16 ppm color⁴.  With outstanding color and photo print speed, it delivers high-quality 4-by-6 inch edge-to-edge prints. For added convenience and ease of use, it features a seven-button operator panel and a special indicator light that tells consumers when their cartridges are running low on ink. In addition to its affordability, consumers will also appreciate the professional quality text and graphics.

Lexmark’s new Z1300 series Single Function Inkjet Printer helps to keep home users productive all day long, with fast printing speeds of up to 22 ppm black and 16 ppm color⁴ and easy-to-use photo printing features — at a great value for under $25¹. Students and home users will appreciate the Z1300’s affordability and high-quality text and graphics, including lab-quality 4-by-6 inch and 5-by-7 inch borderless photos.

The Lexmark X4550, X3550, X2500, Z1420 and Z1300 offer inkjet consumers the opportunity to participate in the Lexmark Return Program, which gives a variety of ink supplies choices to help reduce printing costs while also benefiting the environment. Users who purchase Lexmark Return Program cartridges will receive an up-front discount⁸ compared to alternative equivalent cartridges in exchange for agreeing to return the used cartridges only to Lexmark for remanufacturing or recycling.
