Lexmark joins U.N. Global Compact, reaffirms commitment to social responsibility
 
LEXINGTON, Ky. - 06/05/2008

Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility, Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) today announced that it has joined the United Nations (U.N.) Global Compact, the world's largest voluntary global corporate citizenship initiative.

The U.N. Global Compact provides a framework for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with 10 universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.

"We are committed to advancing corporate responsibility throughout the global community and fully support the principles of the U.N. Global Compact," said Paul J. Curlander, Lexmark chairman and chief executive officer.
