| Jeri Stromquist to succeed Kathy Affeldt as VP of Human Resources for Lexmark | ||

Contact : Corporate Communications Lexmark International, Inc. (LXK: NYSE) today announced that Jeri Stromquist will succeed Kathy Affeldt as vice president of human resources effective immediately. She will report to Paul Curlander, chairman and CEO. Affeldt, who joined Lexmark at its inception in 1991 and who served in several key human resources positions before assuming her current role in July 1996, is retiring. In making the announcement, Curlander stated, “I’m delighted to have Jeri fill this important role. She has a strong understanding of our business and the challenges our people face around the world.” Stromquist has been vice president of worldwide compensation and resource programs since January of 2001. She has also been with Lexmark since its inception, serving as a division vice president of finance, manager of manufacturing financial planning and U.S. controller. She began her career with IBM where she held various staff and management positions beginning in 1983. Stromquist holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Kentucky University and an MBA from Xavier University. She is both a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant. Affeldt began her career with IBM in 1969 where she held a number of sales and human resources positions. In 1988 she became a personnel manager for Lexmark’s predecessor, the IBM Information Products Division based in Lexington, Ky. “It has truly been a pleasure working with Kathy over the years,” said Curlander. “As Lexmark has grown, Kathy has built a worldwide and a world-class human resources function.
