Unveiling the latest in a value-packed line of high-resolution digital imaging centers, Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) today introduced the Lexmark X85 All-In-One Print Center, which offers Lexmark's award-winning inkjet print technology coupled with a flatbed scanner, PC-free color copying and scan-to-PC fax capabilities. The X85 builds on the momentum of the Lexmark X83 and X73, currently ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in U.S. retail sales among All-In-Ones in the sub-$200 category**.

“Recent Intelect data further demonstrates the success of the X85's predecessors, the X83 and X73 – compact, multi-purpose imaging solutions that meet the various needs of home and office users,” said Tim Craig, Lexmark vice president and president of its Consumer Printer Division. “These rankings underscore our commitment to continue developing and introducing products that deliver the quality and performance consumers have come to expect from Lexmark.”

Further demonstrating Lexmark’s commitment to developing products based on customer preferences, the X85 will be offered in a new black color. Designed for discriminating home users, the X85 is a sleek, compact solution for general printing needs as well as creating personalized cards, scanning traditional family photos and printing digital images.

Vibrant Photo-Quality Output
Consumers can achieve brilliant resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) when printing on photo paper. The X85 also features up to 2400 x 1200 dpi in black and color on all paper types, offering users the option of generating vibrant, photo-quality output on other media, such as card stock, transparencies and iron-on transfers.

The X85 generates output quickly with competitive print speeds of up to 12 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to six ppm in color, and supports Windows and Mac platforms.

Flexible Flatbed Scanner
Suited to handle traditional photographs and books of varied thickness, the X85’s flatbed scanner with removable lid ensures maximum flexibility. The 600 x 1200 dpi optical resolution, 48-bit color scan depth and up to 19,200 dpi enhanced resolution allows for the ultimate in scanned output.

Standalone Black and Color Copying – easy as 1,2,3
The X85 All-In-One Print Center delivers up to 99 copies from one original and has a zoom range of 25 to 400 percent for reducing and enlarging images. Users benefit from several job-finishing functions for added usability, such as duplex and booklet printing in PC-attached mode. The X85 produces up to 10 copies per minute (cpm) in black and up to three cpm in color.

Scan-to-Fax Capabilities
The scan-to-PC fax capability features fully functional black and color fax applications. Easy-to-use software, available in the box at retail, allows consumers to edit, store, send and receive documents via fax through their computers’ fax modem. Users simply select “Scan-to-Fax,” which launches the fax software and scans the file, and then input the fax number and send.

As the latest addition to the Lexmark All-In-One Print Center line, the X85 joins the PrinTrio™ and the X125 to offer feature-rich solutions for small and home offices. As with all Lexmark Color Jetprinters™ and All-In-One inkjet products, Lexmark offers signature features that enable the ultimate in ease-of-use, including:
