Reg Morris, lab operations manager for Lexmark International, Inc., (NYSE: LXK) is the winner of the company’s first Volunteer of the Year Award. He was selected from 20 nominated Lexmark employees in five countries.

Morris was selected because of his dedication to numerous community organizations, including his service on the boards of directors for God’s Pantry, Inc., the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross, and Lexington Habitat for Humanity, where he currently holds the position of board president. As Lexmark’s designated project leader, Morris has spearheaded the construction of 10 Lexmark houses for Lexington Habitat for Humanity since 1998.

In recognition of Morris’s commitment to volunteer service, Lexmark is donating $5,000 to Lexington Habitat for Humanity, the charity designated by Morris.

"Reg invests untold hours toward our mission at Lexington Habitat for Humanity and many other not-for-profit organizations," said Grant Phelps, Executive Director, Lexington Habitat for Humanity. "I have never heard him say no. He just asks when he can be there to help. We are truly thankful for all he accomplishes on our behalf."

"Reg Morris reflects the true spirit of Lexmark’s commitment to making the communities in which we live and work better places. We applaud his passion for service," said Jeri Stromquist, Lexmark vice president of Human Resources.

Lexmark launched the Volunteer of the Year Award, a global award program, in 2004, at the same time it launched its Volunteer Time Off Program in the U.S. The Volunteer Time Off Program gives each of its full-time employees up to three days of paid time away from work annually to volunteer in their local community. Part-time employees receive up to one-and-a-half days annually. The program enables Lexmark employees to serve in their local communities without having to use personal vacation time.
