Reviewers from two leading consumer technology media outlets, www.CNET.com and PC Magazine, call the latest multifunction printers from Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) a good value with particularly easy-to-use photo features.

Lexmark P4350
“There’s a multifunction on the market for every imaginable user,” CNET said. “Yet perhaps the largest market for all-in-one machines is that of home users on a limited budget who take lots of digital pictures, yet still find technology intimidating. That’s where the Lexmark P4350 comes in. This inkjet all-in-one incorporates scanning, copying, and direct photo printing into one fairly compact package that's a breeze to use.”

CNET gave the Lexmark P4350 good marks for design, features and performance and emphasized its ease of use, saying “its interface and software are unbeatable for user-friendliness.”

PC Magazine also found the Lexmark P4350 easy to use. The magazine stated, “Setup is easy…Simply find a place for it, load the cartridges, connect the USB cable, and run the automated setup program.” PC Magazine also cited the photo quality of the Lexmark P4350 at the “high end of very good,” giving the printer’s photo quality a 4.5 out of 5 rating.

Lexmark X3350
“A surprisingly good photo multifunction for families, students, or home-office users,” said CNET of the new Lexmark X3350 multifunction printer. “The Lexmark X3350 All-In-One is a good low-cost choice for text and PictBridge photo printing as well as scanning and photocopying. It serves well as an amateur photo printer (up to 4800x1200dpi), with bundled software for image management and editing.”

As for text speed, CNET called the Lexmark X3350 “one of the speediest budget inkjet all-in-ones we’ve tested.”

PC Magazine also noted the Lexmark X3350’s speed and performance. “The X3350’s performance was a pleasant surprise…the fastest we’ve seen for any AIO selling for less than $150,” PC Magazine said.

Printer Features
Lexmark’s latest AIOs make higher-end technology more broadly available through new consumer-friendly price points. These feature-rich printers include flatbed scanners, PictBridge, borderless photo printing, LCD screens and functionality with or without a PC. Both are capable of using Lexmark’s Evercolor™ inks to deliver brilliant photos that last longer than most traditional photos under display conditions without fading, and more than 200 years stored in photo albums*.

“The Lexmark P4350 and X3350 take our commitment to ease of use to a new level. We are delighted to see this recognized by CNET and PC Magazine,” said Najib Bahous, Lexmark vice president and president of its Consumer Printer Division.

Pricing and availability
The Lexmark P4350 has an estimated street price of $129, while the Lexmark X3350 is available for $79 after a $20 mail-in rebate.
