Buyers Laboratory, a leading test lab, has awarded the new Lexmark E240 and E342n desktop monochrome laser printers "Highly Recommended" citations, Buyers Lab’s highest rating.

The Lexmark E240, with print speeds up to 27 pages per minute (ppm), was cited for its user-friendly design and excellent performance in Buyers Lab’s tests. "This highly reliable unit provided a perfect reliability performance, completing our one-month, 7,500-impression durability test without requiring any service or experiencing a single misfeed," said Buyers Lab. With an estimated street price of $199, Buyers Lab noted that the Lexmark E240 is priced more than 50 percent lower than the average for competitive non-networked monochrome laser printers.

The Lexmark E342n is a network-ready model, with a maximum print speed of 30 ppm and an LCD operator panel. It also provided a flawless reliability performance, and was praised for its outstanding ease of use and very good output quality. "Even at 6-point font sizes, text was crisp and cleanly formed," Buyers Lab noted.

The Lexmark E240 and E342n are just two of six new Lexmark E series recently announced by Lexmark. These compact new printers, ideal for home use as well as for small and medium size businesses, offer all-around value for performance and price in a stylish, space-saving design, with prices ranging from $179 to $499.
