-- $5,000 donated to Hope Center in recipient's honor --

LEXINGTON, Ky. - 06/01/2006

Jack Duff, customer service quality process engineer, has been awarded Lexmark's Volunteer of the Year Award for his commitment to volunteer service. Duff was selected from a total of 19 nominated Lexmark employees in four countries.

Duff was selected based on his volunteer work for several organizations over the last few years, including the Hope Center, which offers comprehensive services for homeless and at-risk males in Lexington, Ky.; Food for the Hungry International (FHI); Daybreak Community Church in Lexington, Ky.; and Men for Missions International. In addition to organizing contributions of food for the Hope Center, Duff has led missionary trips to Costa Rica on behalf of FHI, participated in construction projects in Ecuador for Men for Missions International and is chairperson of the mission committee at Daybreak Community Church.

In recognition of his commitment to volunteer service, Lexmark is donating $5,000 to the Hope Center, the charity designated by Duff.

"The Hope Center is grateful for the work Jack does for our organization. He contributes his time so selflessly and we appreciate all that he does," said Cecil Dunn, executive director, Hope Center.

"Jack, along with many other Lexmark volunteers, has embraced the Lexmark value of corporate citizenship in giving back to our communities," said Jeri Stromquist, Lexmark vice president of Human Resources. "We're proud to honor him with this award and contribute to the Hope Center on his behalf."

Lexmark launched the Volunteer of the Year Award around the globe in 2004 in conjunction with the Volunteer Time Off Program. The Volunteer of the Year Award is designed to encourage and recognize volunteerism among Lexmark employees worldwide and support the causes most important to them. Each year, one employee is selected from among worldwide nominations to receive this award. In honor of the employee's volunteer commitment, Lexmark donates $5,000 to a not-for-profit organization or school selected by the recipient.

The Volunteer Time Off Program provides time away from work for employees to volunteer. It gives each of Lexmark's U.S. full-time employees up to three days of paid time away from work annually to volunteer in their local community. Part-time employees receive up to one-and-a-half days annually. The program enables Lexmark employees to serve in their local communities without having to use personal vacation time.
