Buyers Lab gives Lexmark special award for outstanding MFP design

LEXINGTON, Ky. - 07/25/2006

Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), a leading printer and multifunctional testing laboratory, has given Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) a special recognition award for outstanding achievement in printer-based multifunction product (MFP) design.

The award specifically recognizes Lexmark's new workgroup monochrome multifunction printers, which include the Lexmark X644eX646eX646dte and X850e series. All four MFPs feature an innovative eTask interface, which includes an eight-inch color touchscreen display that can easily be customized to improve productivity by simplifying complicated business processes at the touch of an icon.

In addition, the control panel features a convenient USB port that allows users to print PDF and image files directly from a USB flash storage drive.

"Lexmark's new design for its multifunction printers is the best we've seen on products of this type. The control panel is very easy to use, the scanner is fully integrated into the device, and, of course, these multifunction printers have the high degree of reliability and excellent print quality we have come to expect from Lexmark," BLI said.

"Lexmark's new MFP line takes multifunction to the next level by helping customers bridge the digital and paper worlds easily, quickly, and more securely," said Paul Rooke, Lexmark executive vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division. "The combination of our industry leading, customizable eTask interface along with exceptional performance, reliability, and print quality has been a home run with our customers. We are very pleased to receive this honor from BLI."
