The Z12: A new star in the Lexmark Family
The new Lexmark Z12 Color Jetprinter™ combines great performance with fantastic value

Marlow, UK - 14/08/2000
Lexmark continues to extend the boundaries of print quality with the introduction of the Z12, the latest addition to the award winning Z range. Delivering 1200 X 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution on all paper types, the Z12 Color Jetprinter is both easy to use and great value. It will be available to consumers for only £59 inc. VAT.

"Lexmark delivers high-end technology at very affordable prices," said Tony Hall, Director of Lexmark's Consumer Printer Division. "We have always been at the forefront of innovation in this market and the features in the new Z12 are testament to this.

"The Z12 delivers print speeds of up to six pages per minute (ppm) in black and three ppm in colour which makes it an ideal printer for home and educational use. It's the perfect entry level printer for customers who want affordable photo quality printing.

"The Lexmark Z12 offers great quality at a low purchase price. It allows first-time buyers to get the best value for money whilst satisfying the needs of both traditional PC and Mac users. It really is a product the whole family can benefit from as it provides optimal printing in either black and white or colour."

Equipped with an easy-to-use installation wizard, open-and-load cartridge change and an on-board visual and audio commands to keep you informed at every stage of the printing process, the Z12 boasts many of Lexmark's signature features. Even the ink levels are shown, so customers can guard against running out of ink. In addition, the Z12 carries the Lexmark Accu-Feed paper-handling system which virtually eliminates jams and misfeeds and gives consumers the choice of a wide range of printing papers: from photo paper to greeting cards and paper up to 270 gs/m2. With the Z12, it's possible to have smooth printing and paper flow with pages three times the weight of regular sheets.

Lexmark has consistently introduced value for money products with features typically reserved for higher end products. The Z12 represents the most affordable Macintosh printing solution at £59 and includes the Lexmark standard of 1200 x 1200 dpi, which has been the minimum resolution in the inkjet series since the introduction of the Z11 in June 1999. Lexmark pioneered the technology enabling digital photographers to print straight from the camera, without the need for a PC at all. Lexmark has also brought performance to new levels earlier this year by introducing 2400 x 1200 dpi with the Z42 and Z52 printers.
