Designed for mid-volume business workgroups, the C720 helps users significantly increase the impact and quality of their business documents by providing adding fast, photo-quality colour output with a much reduced cost per page.

The Lexmark C720 is a high-performance colour laser printer designed to meet the demanding needs of business users. The C720 operates at 24 pages per minute (ppm) in monochrome and six ppm in full colour. In addition, it offers a two-colour highlight mode, which increases colour printing to 12 ppm and a toner saver mode, for use when printing document proofs which uses 20 per cent less toner, saving considerable costs on consumables.

The C720 also boasts an industry leading 22.5-second time-to-first-print in colour and 15-second time-to-first-print in monochrome as well as operating at a mere 51 decibels; the quietest colour laser printer in its class, making it ideal for the workgroup environment.

The new printer has a 266 megahertz (MHz) processor, 32 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM) and is robust enough to handle printing up to 35,000 pages maximum one time monthly usage or 5,000 pages per month continuous usage.

Print Quality
Achieving these performance specifications has not meant print quality has been compromised. The C720 offers print quality of up to 2400 Image Quality resolution as well as automatic colour correction technology that selects the best colour regardless of the document or application. Additionally, the new printer features Lexmark's new Photo Enhancement Technology, which improves the output quality of photographs to rival that of 35-millimeter film.

The C720 includes four high-yield toner cartridges that are loaded from the front of the printer making cartridge changes simple and fast to complete for end users.

Connectivity
Connectivity for the C720 is easy and convenient. The printer can be connected via its standard parallel port for operation in Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, UNIX, Linux and Macintosh environments and can be connected to a network via an internal or external network adapter. Lexmark's MarkVision Professional software is included at no additional cost and helps ease printer setup and management on a network. The C720 can also be combined with Lexmark's OptraImage 443 multifunction option, turning the colour printer into a fast colour copier, scanner and fax.

Models and Availability
Lexmark's new C720 colour laser printer is offered in three models: the C720 base model, the C720n and the C720dn. The C720n ships with 10/100 Ethernet capabilities, 64 MB RAM and 250 sheets of input capacity. The C720dn also offers 10/100 Ethernet connectivity and 64 MB RAM but has 750 sheets of input capacity and a duplex unit.
