Addressing the needs of small office/home office (SOHO) users, Lexmark International, today introduced the Lexmark X63 All-In-One Office Centre. The £179 (RRP) X63 combines Lexmark’s core high resolution inkjet print technology with fax, scan and copy functionality to offer a complete solution for a variety of office tasks – without the expense of purchasing multiple products. About the size of the average inkjet printer, the X63 is perfect for an office with limited space, offering the functionalities of 4 different devices.

The X63 adds to the All-In-One range, which includes the X83 and X73. Like its sister product, the Lexmark X83, the X63 offers photo quality 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) print resolution, high quality scanning and stand alone colour copy capabilities. The X63, with its sheet-fed design and black and colour stand alone fax capabilities, is well suited for SOHO users looking for an efficient way to print, scan, copy and fax documents.
High Quality Printing
Featuring Lexmark's exclusive inkjet technology, the X63 All-In-One Office Centre offers 2400 x 1200 dpi in black and colour on all paper types as well as a seven-picolitre drop size for smooth colour transitions. The result: crisp text and vivid images on any media – ideal for office documents with graphics including reports and transparencies. Lexmark’s AccuFeed TM paper handling system virtually eliminates paper jams or misfeeds, enabling users to choose from a range of print media, including transparencies, labels and multiple envelope sizes, weighing up to 270 gsm.
The X63 boasts fast print speeds of up to 14 pages per minute (ppm) in black – the fastest of any All-In-One in its class – and up to 7 ppm in colour. It is compatible with Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP and offers USB connectivity.
Standalone Black or Colour Faxing
The X63 All-In-One Office Centre offers both black and colour stand alone fax capabilities. Its sheet-fed design allows users to fax multiple pages at once and enables storage of up to 80 pages in the fax memory. The phone keypad's interface allows for easy access to a variety of functions including manual dial, speed dial, redial, pause and fax forwarding, and the ability to customise features, such as ring volume and distinctive ring detection.
High Resolution Colour Scanning
Ideal for scanning work-related documents, the X63 All-In-One Office Centre offers up to 600 x 300 dpi resolution (up to 9,600 dpi enhanced resolution), 36-bit colour scan depth and speeds of up to 15 seconds per scan (sps) in black and up to 27 sps in colour. By using the in-the-box ABBYY Finereader OCR software, users can scan in text documents such as letters or CV’s, and recreate original files – so if the original file or disk has been lost, new documents can be created and edited in an instant. The X63 also comes with MGI PhotoSuite, a photo editing software package, so all scanned images and photos can be enhanced for great true-to-original prints.
Black and Colour Copying
The X63 can function as a standalone colour copier capable of generating up to four copies per minute (cpm) in black and up to two cpm in colour. An LCD screen allows users to perform several functions, such as making simple black and colour copies, custom resizing photos from 25 to 200 percent and producing up to 99 copies from one original.
