Print cartridge level seems incorrect

Are you printing photos or documents with a large amount of graphics or images?

If you want to conserve ink, select Quick Print as the print quality. For more information, see Selecting a print quality.

You can also minimize the amount of graphics and images in the document. The print quality and the type of documents you print affect the amount of ink being used.

Are you printing a large file?

Wait for the print job to finish, and then open the Lexmark 4300 Series Utility to see how much ink is left. You can also check ink levels from the control panel. For more information, see Performing maintenance tasks from the control panel.

Did you remove a print cartridge to use in another printer?

If a print cartridge was removed and used in another printer and then returned to the All-In-One, the ink level in the Utility may indicate that there is more ink in the print cartridge than is actually present.

Print cartridge level seems to go down quickly

Are you printing photos or documents with a large amount of graphics or images?

If you want to conserve ink, minimize the amount of graphics and images in the document. The type of documents you print affects the amount of ink being used.

Are you printing with Photo as the print quality setting?

If you want to conserve ink, try Selecting a print quality other than Photo. Select Photo only when you are printing with photo or coated paper to reduce ink usage.

Are you using a 32 black cartridge?

Buy a 34 black cartridge.

Are you using a 33 color cartridge?

Buy a 35 color cartridge.

Cartridge is running low on ink as indicated by an error message

Do you see an error message on your screen?
