Selecting a print quality

From the control panel

You can select a print quality from both the Photo and Copy modes.

  1. When performing a copying task, press Mode until the Copy light comes on; when working with photos, press Mode until the Photo Card light comes on.
  2. Press Menu.
  3. From either the Copy menu or the Photo menu, use the up and down arrows to scroll to Copy Quality or Print Quality.
  4. Using the left (-) and right (+) arrows, select the appropriate print or copy quality for the document.
    • Automatic—The All-In-One sets the print quality according to the paper type loaded.
    • Draft—Best for copying or printing text-only documents with reduced quality but faster speeds.
    • Normal—Recommended for most types of documents.
    • Photo—Best for photos and documents with graphics.

When printing

  1. From the software application, choose File  Print.
  2. From the third pop-up menu from the top, choose Quality & Media.
  3. From the Print Quality area, select the appropriate print quality for the document.
    • Automatic—The All-In-One sets the print quality according to the paper type loaded.
    • Quick Print—Best for text-only documents with reduced print quality but faster print speed.
    • Normal—Recommended for most types of documents.
    • Photo—Best for photos and documents with graphics.

When copying

  1. Open the Lexmark 4300 Series Center.
  2. Select the Copy tab.
  3. From the Copy Quality area, select the appropriate copy quality for the document.
    • Photo—Best when copying photos and documents with graphics.
    • Normal—Recommended for most types of documents.
    • Quick Copy—Best for copying text-only documents. Print quality is reduced, but copy speed is faster.
    • Automatic—The All-In-One sets the print quality according to the paper type loaded.
