Scanning multiple pages or images

You can scan multiple images at once to save time:

Using the scanner glass

Using the ADF

  1. Put the first page of your document face down on the scanner glass in the upper left corner. For help, see Loading an original document face down on the scanner glass.
  2. Double-click the Lexmark Productivity Suite icon.
  3. Click Scan.

The Scanning & Copying page appears on your computer screen.

  1. From the Send scanned image to: drop-down box, select your scan destination.
  2. In the Scan section, click See More Scan Settings.
  3. Click Display Advanced Scan Settings.

The Advanced Scan Settings dialog box appears.

  1. Select Scan multiple items before output.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Click Scan Now.
  4. When you are prompted to do so, place the next page on the scanner glass.
  1. Make sure your computer and All-In-One are on, and the All-In-One is connected to the computer.
  2. Load your original. For help, see Loading an original document face up into the ADF.
  3. Press Mode until Scan is selected.
  4. Press + until your scan destination appears on the display.
  5. Press Black or Color.

Your document or image is scanned to the destination you chose.

  1. Make sure your computer and All-In-One are on, and the All-In-One is connected to the computer.
  2. Load your original. For help, see Loading an original document face up into the ADF or Loading an original document face down on the scanner glass.
  3. Double-click the Lexmark Productivity Suite icon.
  4. Click Scan.

The Scanning & Copying page appears on your computer screen.

  1. Click Preview Now to see your scanned image.

Note:  If the size of the scan (found in the lower right of the preview window) appears in red, you do not have the system resources available to perform the scan at the resolution or size you have selected. Reduce your resolution or the size of your scan area.

  1. Adjust the dotted lines to fit around the part of the image you want to print.
  2. From the Send scanned image to drop-down menu, select your scan destination.
  3. To further customize your scan job, click See More Scan Settings.
  4. When you are finished customizing your image, click Scan Now.

Note:  Some programs do not support multiple page scanning.

  1. Make sure your computer and All-In-One are on, and the All-In-One is connected to the computer.

  3. Press Mode repeatedly until Scan is selected.
  4. Press + to scroll through the list of possible programs to which you can scan.
  5. Press Select when the program to which you want to scan appears.
  6. From the Start area on the control panel, press Black to begin a black and white scan or Color to begin a color scan.

When your document is scanned, it opens in the program you chose.


E-mailing a scanned image or document

You can send photographs through e-mail:

  2. Double-click the Lexmark Productivity Suite icon.
  3. Click Attach to E-mail.
  4. Click Scan and e-mail a document or photo.

The Scanning & Copying page appears on your computer screen.

  1. Click Preview Now.
  2. From the What is being scanned? menu, select Color Document, Color Photo, Black & White Document or Black & White Photo.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to prepare the image or document for e-mail.
  5. Click Attach Now.
  6. Write a note to accompany the attached image or document, and then send it.

  3. Press Mode repeatedly until Scan is selected.
  4. Press + repeatedly until E-mail appears.
  5. From the Start area on the control panel, press Black to begin a black and white scan or Color to begin a color scan.
  6. Follow the instructions on your computer screen to send your e-mail.


Scanning photos

  1. Make sure your computer and your All-In-One are on, and the All-In-One is connected to the computer.
  2. Load your original document. For help, see Loading an original document face up into the ADF, or Loading an original document face down on the scanner glass.
  3. Double-click the Lexmark Productivity Suite icon.
  4. Click Scan.

The Scanning & Copying page appears on your computer screen on your computer screen.

  1. Click Preview Now to view your scanned image.

Note: If the size of the scan (found in the lower right of the preview window) appears in red, you do not have the system resources available to perform the scan at the resolution or size you have selected. To correct this problem, either reduce your resolution or the size of your scan area.

  1. Adjust the dotted lines to fit around the portion of the image you want to scan.
  2. From the Send scanned image to drop-down menu, select your scan destination.
  3. Click See More Scan Settings to further customize your scan job.
  4. When you are finished customizing your image, click Scan Now.

When your document has finished processing, it will open in the program you chose.


Editing scanned images

With most graphics programs, you can customize your image.

  1. Double-click the Lexmark Productivity Suite icon.
  2. Click Scan.

The Scanning & Copying page appears on your computer screen on your computer screen.

  1. From the Send scanned image to drop-down menu, select your scan destination.
  2. Click Scan Now.

When the image has finished processing, it opens in the program you selected.

  1. Edit the image using the tools available in your program.

Scanning documents to edit text

Use the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software feature to turn scanned images into editable text within a word processing application.

  1. Load your original document. For help, see Loading an original document face up into the ADF, or Loading an original document face down on the scanner glass.
  2. Double-click the Lexmark Productivity Suite icon.
  3. Click Scan & Edit Text (OCR).

The Lexmark All-In-One Center opens.

  1. Click Preview Now to view a copy of your document.
  2. Select the program you want to use to edit your text.
  3. Click Send Now.

When your document has finished processing, it will open in the program you chose.

  1. Edit your document.
  2. Save your document.

Scanning to your computer over a network

  1. Make sure your computer and All-In-One are on.
  2. Make sure your computer is attached to the network.
  3. Load your original. For help, see Loading an original document face up into the ADF or Loading an original document face down on the scanner glass.
  4. Press Mode repeatedly until Scan is selected.
  5. Press + to scroll through the list of possible computers to which you can scan.
  6. When your PC name appears on the display, press Select.
  7. Enter your four-digit PIN.

To change your computer name or PIN, click Change your network settings.

  1. Press Select.
  2. Press Select.
