The Lexmark PrintCryption Card is designed to provide security for proprietary and confidential documents.
The Lexmark PrintCryption Card enables printing of host encrypted data. With this option installed, the printer is capable of decrypting print jobs encrypted with the AES Rijndael algorithm. The Lexmark PrintCryption Card analyzes the encrypted data stream, determines if the correct key was used to encrypt the data, decrypts the data and allows the confidential document to be printed.
The Lexmark PrintCryption Card supports secure key management protocols and supports both session keys and persistent keys. The key update process ensures secured transmission of new keys. The Lexmark PrintCryption Card supports 128 bit, 192 bit, and 256 bit encryption keys.
Key features of the Lexmark PrintCryption Card

- An appropriately configured host can negotiate a secure session key with the printer, resulting in a truly secure environment with a minimum administrative workload
- Offers symmetric algorithm supporting key and block lengths of 128, 192, and 256 bit encryption
- Supports both Persistent and Session Keys
- Does not interfere with standard non-encrypted print jobs
- If there is not an optional Lexmark PrintCryption Card in the printer, the data will not print
- Works with software from Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. (LRS), VPS/TCP/IP 8.0 or later and VPS/Secure 8.0 or later
