A wedding scrapbook is not only fun to assemble; it will also be a lasting keepsake for the newlyweds that will remind them of their special day forever. If you are planning on making a wedding scrapbook, start planning the scrapbook well before the wedding, and begin assembly following the actual wedding, when you have accumulated all the photos, mementos, and other special items from the wedding.
To Do List
Start collecting items for the scrapbook in the months leading up to the wedding. Those items include:
- Engagement and wedding announcements from the newspaper.
- The complete wedding invitation, as well as invitations to the engagement party, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinner.
- Mementos from bridal showers, bridesmaids luncheon, or other pre-wedding get-togethers.
- Look up the couple’s honeymoon destination on the Internet, and print some enticing images of the honeymoon destination.
- Wedding ceremony and reception mementos, including favors, imprinted napkins, ceremony programs, and table decorations.
- Pictures! Keep a camera handy to snap photos of the happy couple in the months leading up to the wedding, and of course, make sure to get lots of snapshots on the wedding day!

Assembly
Once you have gathered all of the elements you want to use in the scrapbook, it’s time to think about how you want to lay it all out. Arrange your photos and mementos in chronological order and consider how you’d like to add your personal touch to the scrapbook with stickers, rubber stamping, stencils, ribbons, or whatever creative decorations you like to use. Think about your layout, and how you plan to document the photos. Planning ahead means a better chance of being happy with the final scrapbook, and reduces the need to redo things.
When you’re ready to begin assembly, start with the photos and important mementos. After all of the critical pieces are placed in the book, then you can continue with the really fun part – decoration!
