EMEA Technology Specialist – Connectivity L1/L2

Job Description





The Connectivity Technology Specialist (TS) is a lead pre-sales technical resources for EMEA and a member of the EMEA Subject Matter Expert group. Their primary focus is on the security of the communication between Lexmark supported connected devices and back-end services either on premise, cloud or hybrid. The role of the TS best practice manager EMEA will be to define the current and future role of all TS in EMEA. The role will require working with both countries but also working with the Global TS/SE best practice manger, Global security program manager, Development and Global SD&I to make sure there is global alignment on how the TS operates in EMEA.

  • Owns Security practices for EMEA, working with the global practice owner and ensuring the TS community is up to date and supports the EMEA security SMEs in the field.
  • Provides pre-sales support to the Business Consultant (BC), Corporate Account Managers (CAMs), Business Development Managers (BDMs) in Target and Key accounts.
  • Responsible for the implementation of “Proof of Concept” and “Pilot” solutions based on criteria provided by CFT and Customer.
  • Consult with Customer as Subject Matter Expert, providing insight into potential solutions that create value and improve the Customer business performance.
  • Responsible for software product installations during execution of a Statement of Work (SoW) for multi country large accounts. Customer Environments can vary from hundreds to thousands of installed devices.
  • Develop and run key and end user training for solutions and applications in dedicated customer situations.
  • Responsible to build and grow a high trust relationship with key contacts within the Customer environments.
  • Demonstrates discipline in following standard practices and develops or enhances practices as needed by the Customer or Lexmark. 
  • Maintain sufficient dialogue with Customer key technical contacts to understand priority business initiatives.
  • Promote the value of the Customer / Lexmark relationship within the Customer, Lexmark and all third-party organizations.
  • Acts as primary contact and point person for technical information and issue resolution, for presales activities coming from the country Technical Specialists or dedicated customers.
  • A recognized strong team player known for consistent delivery of quality services.
  • Responsible for Maintaining skill level around new offerings and tool sets.







  • Experience of team membership for multiple complex projects; preferably with multi-disciplined teams
  • Significant experience interacting with industry leading customers
  • Experience with application deployment through the use of remote technologies
  • Strong technical background with a minimum of five (5) years Systems experience



  • Specialization in one or more output disciplines is desirable e.g., copier technologies, color reprographics, distributed printing etc. Specific Lexmark product expertise is essential at a detailed level e.g., Output management, Document capture.
  • A very good understanding of topologies and operating environments (Microsoft OSs, Apple MacOS and Linux) is also essential.
  • Enhanced knowledge of software driver implementation, IP schemas and network protocols.
  • Enhanced knowledge about IT Security, Security Concepts, Data Privacy, Data Protection and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Excellent skills in MS Office Suite including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. MS Visio and MS Access preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a systematic approach to problem solving through analysis of the problem and evaluation of alternative solutions.
  • Ability to think creatively and apply innovative approaches to business problems and opportunities.
  • Strong teaching skills, ability to present and demonstrate complex procedures to diverse groups
  • Experience in delivering applications to customers and providing the supporting documentation.

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Science or equivalent experience
  • English language proficiency  
  • Microsoft certification or similar
