Why Participate in Lexmark's Diagnostic & Usage Program?
You bought your Lexmark printer because of our reputation for high-quality printers and supplies. But where would we be if we didn’t continuously improve our products? Information about your printer can help us in many ways, including diagnosing and upgrading your printer’s firmware should anything ever go wrong.
Lexmark’s Diagnostics and Usage Program allows you to opt-in so that your printer can automatically send printer usage and diagnostics information once a month to Lexmark. That information about how your printer is used and any problems you may have encountered is analyzed, allowing us to improve the products and services we offer.
How does it all work?
It's a Voluntary Program

- Your printer submits usage data to Lexmark once a month.
Lexmark Processes the Data
- The information your printer submits is collected and processed in Lexmark’s database.
- Lexmark uses this data to improve the overall customer printing experience.

How will the data be used?
If you’ve opted in to Lexmark Diagnostics and Usage, your computer periodically uses your Internet connection to send information about how you use your printer to Lexmark. This information combined with data from other other program participants helps Lexmark identify features that customers use most often and improve our products. This information may be combined with other information you provide us, such as your name, address, e-mail or phone number so that Lexmark can provide you better service.
Is this Spyware?
No. Spyware collects information or acts on your computer without your full knowledge or consent. Unlike spyware, Lexmark Diagnostics and Usage collects only specific information that you authorize and uses it only as described above.
If I choose to participate now, can I opt-out later?
Yes, you can choose to start or stop participating in Lexmark Diagnostics and Usage at any time. These settings are available through the Start Menu icon under Lexmark.
