Lexmark enhances channel partners' remote service capabilities with Cloud Bridge

The new cloud-based connectivity suite improves channel partners’ ability to remotely manage customers with hyper distributed fleets in a simple and efficient way.

Sydney, AUSTRALIA. 11 May 2021

Lexmark, a global imaging solutions leader, is enhancing the remote service capabilities of its channel partners in Australia and New Zealand with the launch of Lexmark Cloud Bridge, a connectivity suite that empowers partners to provide top notch remote customer service.

Lexmark Cloud Bridge connectivity suite enhances the Cloud Fleet Management platform to deliver Lexmark remote device management for channel partners with advanced configuration, firmware updates, centralised visibility, supplies and alert messaging – all without the need to visit customers on-site.

“With the enhanced remote service capabilities provided by Cloud Bridge, Lexmark channel partners can spend less time on IT and maintenance tasks on-site, and more time focused on growing their business”, said Stephen Bell, Regional Director of Lexmark Australia and New Zealand.

“Lexmark Cloud Bridge allows the customer’s entire networked printer fleet to securely connect to Lexmark's cloud infrastructure regardless of their device brand, network complexity or location. In doing so, the connectivity suite enables channel partners to securely deliver our industry-leading print services anywhere, at any time, to any print environment — helping them to remotely manage the needs of customers from hundreds of devices to a single device in a remote office,” he added.

The Cloud Bridge suite includes the following four agents, delivering complementary capabilities:

Native agent, and IoT-native firmware that enables Lexmark devices to connect directly with Lexmark Cloud Services global system. This is ideal for customer locations with one to multiple or all devices in remote work situations, as well as customers with disparate networks.

Print agent, a printer-based app enabling direct connectivity, including legacy solutions-capable Lexmark devices that are not IoT native. This app enhances services capabilities for older devices, extending their value over time.

Fleet Agent, which compliments direct connectivity options, providing flexibility to aggregate data on-premises with a server-based solution. This functionality works well for environments with a larger number of devices or when the fleet includes third-party, non-Lexmark branded devices.

Local agent supports direct connected printers, particularly security-conscious customers who manage their hybrid work environment through a private network with VPN.

The Lexmark Cloud Bridge architecture base is a strong new foundation that will enable channel partners to better meet future customers’ needs today and into the future. Channel partners in Australia and New Zealand can look forward to the rollout of the new Lexmark Cloud Bridge from today.
