Lexmark is seeking a positive, motivated, high energy, individual to join a global team of solution architects who is proficient with retail enterprise applications, printing/publishing, and data integration concepts.
This is a customer-facing position. The candidate must possess a blend of technical skills and the ability to effectively communicate with business professionals to assess major business operations and address product and service needs.
The role is part of a global team of specialists primarily focused on the Lexmark Publishing Platform for Retail solution formerly known as the AccessVia Publishing Platform. This position provides excellent opportunities to help the world’s largest enterprise retailers automate complex processes in a creative manner while gaining experience with a wide variety of application platforms and technologies.
Responsibilities
Sales Engineering Support
Provide technical support to Sales and Account Management teams to present, demonstrate, and recommend solutions to meet customer needs and best practices
Work directly with customers to determine requirements, use cases, and technical specifications through meetings and site assessments
Build and stage application environments for customer specific demonstrations and ‘proof of concept’ projects
Create customer specific sign and label templates using Lexmark application components to simulate customer experience
Determine and capture customer solutions and technical requirements for proposals
Set customer expectations and clarify assumptions for solution capabilities and limitations
Collaborate with project teams and Technical Program Managers to determine proper solutions and technical services scope of work
Evaluate requirements and provide accurate estimates for technical services, noting key assumptions, and/or limitations
Assist customers to specify and design client specific configurations and enhancements
Collaborate with team to provide and submit RFP responses
Attend and provide support for trade shows including technical demonstration setup and participating in customer meetings
Collaborate with Technical Integration Services delivery teams to ensure end to end project success, including knowledge transfer and helping change orders and for new requirements during implementation phases
Project Management Support
Collaborate with Technical Project Managers to draft and assemble proposals, scope of work orders, and scope change orders
Communicate and coordinate meetings with customers to define project goals, objectives, requirements, and approach for implementations
Develop project scope, tasks, and efforts for customer projects
Other Responsibilities
Collaborate with Product Development Teams to describe user stories and enhancement requirements for special product requests and software defects
Initiate ongoing self-driven industry research and classroom or online training to maintain knowledge of related industry solutions, competition, and trends
Create and update sales support and solution technical reference documentation for reusability
Qualifications and Experience for Success
2-3 years relevant experience as a solution architect, sales engineer, or technical consultant
Retail industry / retail systems experience
Familiarity with the Lexmark Publishing Platform / AccessVia or other automated sign and label printing is ideal
Proficiency and familiarity with the following technology platforms and concepts:
Database Management Systems: SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access
Data Integration Processing: Web Services, ETL import/export, ODBC
Operating Systems/Components: Windows Server and Client, Red Hat Linux
Mobile Devices for Retail: iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, with scanning
IT Infrastructure and Networking: Amazon Web Services, Azure, VMWare, Hyper-V, IIS Web Server, Browsers, LAN/WAN/WLAN concepts, Load balancing
Printing and Publishing: Printer Drivers, Postscript, Desktop publishing, fonts, graphics file formats
Reporting: SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI
Security: Application environment security, Integrated user authentication and SSO
SaaS: SaaS application environments
Project Management experience preferred
Graphic design experience preferred
Digital sign or ESL(electronic shelf labels) experience preferred
Spanish speaking fluency is ideal
Flexibility and ability to perform multiple roles on a project team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical aptitude or willingness to learn new applications and technologies
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work history
Other Considerations
Remote work from home option is available for this role.
The ability to travel globally to customer locations is required. Anticipate up to 20% travel as needed.
Job location is flexible. Preferred locations are Seattle-WA, Boulder-Colorado, Lexington-KY but will consider other locations for the right candidate.
