Job Summary:

The SMB Customer Research Analyst, will work with the  Promotions Coordination Manager/Team for hardware who is part of the Product Marketing Team in Lexmark. This team will focus on 4P coordination and management processes, systems, practice and engagement- focusing on promotion execution and support. The purpose of this role is to drive category growth and target achievement.

The research analyst, as part of the Market and Competitive Intelligence Team in Lexmark, will focus on gathering, reviewing, summarizing and analyzing research that informs Lexmark’s global marketing team, executives and other business groups.

The analyst is responsible for the following major activities within the Market and Competitive Intelligence Team:

  • Collection and organization of market and secondary research that will support the development of Lexmark’s 4P strategy for open market hardware devices
  • Distribution of information to appropriate Lexmark teams to provide a clear, up-to-date view of the market and to identify opportunities and/or threats.
  • Synthesis of key trends to enable clear, forward-looking decisions
    • Perform competitive market research that will support development and enhancement of 4P strategy of our open market hardware devices by gathering and consolidating 3rd party research articles on a daily basis and provide analysis, key takeaways, business implications to Lexmark, and make recommendations to various audiences
    • Track and monitor Lexmark’s promotional effectiveness and provide relevant data to support enhancements to 4P playbook
    • Maintain database and provide analysis of competition’s product offerings and channel promotions that will have an impact to Lexmark’s current open market products
    • Provides supporting data to help in the development of sales enablement content and strategy
    • Publish and proactively share key information and insights to executives and identified audiences through email, Sharepoint site, or presentation materials
    • Serve as a resource for internal customers, occasionally communicating with inquiry analysts from research houses and various web sources
    • Keep abreast of competitive news on product offerings and channel promotions and responsible for thorough research and analysis, and the creation of data-driven presentations with the presentation of likely outcomes to executives
    • Provide or present broad competitive and market analysis of main competitors’ offering, partnership, M&A, financials, and/or business movements, etc.
    • Provide or present supplemental strategy package/report to Lexmark Executives, Global Marketing team, and Key-Decision Makers
    • Conduct research or case study about market trends, predictions, forecast and customer views
    • Project manages and coordinates with Marketing team for specific research studies that will be used during executive and board meetings
    • Drives standardization and simplification of existing processes
    • Improves research processes and reports visualization using emerging tools and technologies


  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferably in Marketing, Finance, Business and Accounting so long as there is 2+ years of work experience in any of these fields: business analysis, market research, or product management
  • Ability to effectively communicate in standard business English
  • Experienced in and highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint and Word; experience with Power BI dashboard an advantage
  • Capable of sophisticated web research
  • Adept at sorting and cataloguing information
  • Adept at drawing inferences from large amounts of data
  • Willing to work on 2nd shift
