Job Purpose/Mission/Summary

Designs creative, image-enhancing artwork and layout for materials used in marketing and promoting the company's products and services.  Serves as technical graphics expert in consultation with internal users on assigned projects. Design services may include but not limited to offset printing, digital reproduction, logo design, fulfillment, product promotions, brochures, displays, annual reports, flyers, web designs, etc.

The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating high visual impact design solutions for stakeholders. This position works to an agreed brief with the client and the Project Manager; and develops creative concepts and ideas within the brand style guides set by the company. The Graphic Designer must be up-to-date with industry software and must have a professional approach to deadlines, able to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects to deliver high-end quality deliverables on time. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Senior Graphic Designer on execution and delivery of design projects from start to finish.
  • Manage more than one design brief at a time, allocating relevant amount of time according to business priorities, rearranging project work when necessary.
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders and/or Project Managers and Senior Graphic Designer to discuss business objectives and requirements when needed.
  • Execute work in adherence to establish brand design guidelines. Professionally and creatively apply the brand guidelines across multiple media and communication styles.
  • Keep Project Managers and Senior Graphic Designer apprised of project status, sending out appropriate notifications if a project or program is at risk and when more information is required to complete the task. Provide ample time to relay status or schedule changes back to stakeholders.
  • Manage timelines and final deliverable expectations with Project Manager and Senior Graphic Designer to give customers confidence and peace-of-mind that the project will be completed within the anticipated timeline and in a professional manner.
  • Engage with all work-related contacts in a professional and respectful manner. Keep an open mind and be willing to listen to constructive criticism and/or critical feedback.
  • Ensure that all work files such as source files, final files, images, attachments and others related to projects are properly filed, managed and archived following the latest documented procedures.
  • Maintain expert level understanding of latest design applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other software used internally, as well as stay informed of emerging industry trends, programs and platforms.

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • MBA or BA degree with emphasis in graphic design.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of graphic design work in a wide variety of media including file preparation for print on demand, professional printing press preparation and multimedia.
  • Superior command of the English language in written and oral communications.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign is required. Familiarity with Flash-based animations, Adobe AfterEffects and video editing is a plus.

Education, Experience and Certifications Basic Requirements:

  • MFA or BA degree in Fine Arts with major in Advertising Arts. Other design oriented courses are acceptable
  • Minimum of 2 years job-related work experience preferably with advertising agencies or media companies, corporate marketing and advertising, or design firms.
  • Supplementary trainings are advantageous but not required.
