OPEX PLANNING ANALYST

Job Purpose/Mission/Summary

The Senior OPEX Planning Analyst is expected to support all Operational Expense Planning and Analysis responsibilities. The incumbent is responsible for tracking company’s expense performance against plan, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and helping senior management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports.

The candidate will need to work closely with business partners, Global business services leaders, process owners and stakeholders in defining key business process management performance indicators to optimize business processes with measurable business results. 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Act as OPEX planning support to Global Business Services (GBS) leadership, to drive strategy, guide timely and informed business decision to meet or exceed headcount and expense planning to optimize ROI.
  • Execute financial forecasts /outlook, analysis of business drivers, and financial reporting based on established periodic cadences. These include leading regular meetings with GBS leaders on pipeline analysis, and understanding each account variances, and identifying risk and opportunities that will impact plan/outlook accuracy.
  • Produces monthly expense bridges reports and analysis (plan/outlook vs actuals) to provide financial insights for business review with Corporate Finance.
  • Prepares and presents the financial part (OPEX results) for GBS area during the quarterly GBS Scorecard review with GBS leadership.
  • Maintain current financial planning, analysis and reporting processes, while actively driving continuous business processes improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Manages numerous numbers of cost centers and loads the cost center owners’ inputs as to their headcount and expense plan/outlook to WDAP (Workday Adaptive Planning tool).
  • Prepare and furnish expense reports to Cost Center Owners and Budget Coordinators for their analysis and review.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Utilize multiple financial systems and tools including, WDAP, Sharepoint, SAP, AFO, Power BI etc. to perform core responsibilities.
    • Be the OPEX Financial point of contact in country with GBS function.
    • Proactive in resolving issues and removing roadblocks with proper guidance from Superiors and or the Planning to Reporting (P2R) team.
    • Review processes as part of continuous improvement to drive simplification and optimization.
    • Prepares and requests new/update cost center and WBS master data in the Finance MDM portal.
    • Prepare and request new/update expense allocations upon Stakeholders’ input.
    • Prepare and submit expense journal entries reclass/adjustments in Blackline.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to handle systems/tools as a user.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Excel and power point application.
  • Power BI experience is an advantage.
  • Proactive to resolve issues and removing roadblocks.
  • Analytical thinking – Identify, assess risks, opportunities and develop risk migration plan.
  • Ability to keep sensitive information and appropriately deliver the same only to relevant individuals as required accordingly.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and cross -functional collaborative skills.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to changing business and change management needs.

Education and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting, CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields role within a multinational company environment.
  • Advanced analytical and data mining proficiencies. Maintaining, Enhancing, building, and interpreting complex Microsoft Excel / Access financial data models and sophisticated Power BI dashboards.
  • Competent, with hands on experience, in SAP ERP, BPC, WDAP,AFO systems, workflow, Power BI reporting modules and data extraction tool sets.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial and operational processes.
