COMMODITY MANAGER

Business Area: Sourcing & Procure to Pay

Job Purpose/Mission/Summary

As a Commodity Manager you will establish and drive Strategic Sourcing on assigned category in alignment with business Leadership as per Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. You will have responsibility for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies to achieve lowest Total Cost of your commodities/categories, reduced working capital and reducing risks via Negotiation planning and execution, High Growth Region Sourcing, Value Engineering and Sole/ Single Source elimination. You will manage Supplier Performance to support your commodity/category and/or region and ensure supply continuity. You will be managing several projects in dynamic environment. You will ensure compliance with  Lexmark sourcing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Category and Commodity Strategies including spend analysis, Benchmarking, Cost, Market Analysis and Global Technology / Economic trends.
  • Manage Sourcing Strategy and Execution for assigned commodities, including negotiation of pricing, pay terms and conditions.
  • Manage Supplier selection, RFQ and RFI process, Negotiation, Contracting and supplier performance processes.
  • Create a strong knowledge and intelligence base for the commodities, market dynamics and suppliers relevant to the business.
  • Ensure the administration, implementation, compliance, and enforcement of global commodity and contracting strategies.
  • Deliver Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Business/Supplier Interface.
  • Ensure Relationship development and management with Business Stakeholders and Suppliers.
  • Participate in the business related sourcing processes for assigned commodities/materials.
  • Manage Supplier Performance (Quality, Delivery, Contractual Obligations) and contract administration.

You must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Business
  • 2+ Years Strategic Sourcing Experience
  • 2+ Years of Experience with SAP/ERP systems
  • Completion of purchasing related seminars or courses specifically:
    • Negotiations
    • Procurement
    • Contracts management
    • Supplier Performance Evaluation / Supplier Management
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum of Five (5) years relevant work experience
  • Possesses the following:
    • Extensive experience in project management.
    • Working experience in policy or procedures creation.
    • Strong commodities (both goods and services) purchasing.
    • Some team lead or supervisory experience.
