There are a broad range of opportunities, with potential responsibilities including but not limited to code design, development and support that affect numerous aspects of Lexmark printer and scanner products including speed, usability, image quality, energy consumption, network capabilities, and security.
The opportunity can result in exposure to multiple programming languages (e.g., assembly, C, C++, Java), Unix, embedded system architecture, multi-threaded and/or multi-process software, kernel development, revision control systems, image processing, imaging system design, electrophotography, ASIC design, page description languages (e.g., PDF, Postscript, PCL, XPS, etc.), and general software engineering practices (requirements engineering, peer code review, unit testing, functional integration testing, etc.).
Specific responsibilities and the resulting experiences vary depending upon the position as well as the interests and educational background of the student.
The student should be working towards a BS or MS degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
