IoT Content Strategist

The IoT Content Strategist/Developer collaborates with stakeholders to develop a content strategey and create marketing deliverables to advance business development in the IoT Platform-as-a-Service market. The primary responsibility is to create content for use across multiple communication vehicles – sales enablement, web, campaigns, events, PR, and social media – in alignment with corporate strategy. This role is a synthesizer of ideas, working closely with R&D, product marketing, services marketing, and industry consultants to transform technical detail into compelling value propositions. Market research is leveraged to understand the competitive landscape, market trends, and customer challenges and motivations.

Ideal candidates must understand cloud, IoT, digital transformation and data analytics technology topics and have experience working in cross-functional teams that include subject matter experts, internal creative services teams and external agencies. Additionally, this role actively engages with colleagues across geographies to understand and adapt content for local market needs, providing an outstanding opportunity to work with a diverse and dynamic team of professionals around the globe.


  • Sets content strategy in concert with corporate and path to market priorities
  • Develops Messaging Platform Documents (MPDs) to support new offer launches
  • Collaborates with in-house creative services, external agencies, subject matter experts and product teams in the development of new materials
  • Writes copy for marketing deliverables
  • Responsible for publishing and maintaining content
  • Supports training team in the development of sales education modules
  • Provides content to the global RFP team
  • Participates in analyst briefings and response development
  • Supports SME and peer marketing teams with messaging development
  • Provides ad hoc executive messaging support

Qualifications Desired in a Successful Candidate:

This role requires excellent critical thinking, project management and change management skills, along with the ability to influence without authority. The right candidate will be a creative, resourceful and strategic thinker with a passion for the creative marketing process.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent field experience required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing communication strategies
  • Strong collaborator with a diplomatic disposition
  • Confidence in engaging with executives
  • Global marketing experience - a plus
  • 5 or more years product marketing/field marketing/or agency experience


  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Writing, editing and storytelling skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organization and project management skills
  • Understanding of content promotion tactics such as SEO, social media, and paid media
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 programs (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, Dynamics, Teams, Sharepoint)
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced business environment and display professionalism and confidence in complex situations
