Environmental Health-Safety Engineer

Lexmark International is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer to work closely with EH&S, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and Site Leadership Teams to actively support and assist with the execution of site and Corporate EH&S programs and initiatives.  

This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, and procedures in safety and environmental engineering. EH&S Engineer is focused on providing employees with a safe and healthful workplace, safeguarding the community, and protecting the environment.  

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities and duties include, but not limited, to the following:

  • Fosters an environment of mutual respect, dignity, and trust
  • Drives a safety engaged culture with strong collaboration among EH&S, Engineering and Leadership Teams
  • Ensures that the Lexmark Boulder site is in compliance with regulatory requirements and Corporate EH&S standards
  • Manages all safety and environmental issues, regulatory reports and permits. This includes the timely and accurate filing of required reports to appropriate regulatory agencies
  • Acts as the Boulder Site Focal Point person for Corporate EH&S initiatives as well as internal and external EH&S audits
  • Brings deep subject matter expertise to implement proactive benchmarking and measuring against best EH&S practices
  • Participates in incident investigation and corrective action
  • Manages and delivers EH&S compliance training
  • Coordinates EH&S projects as needed
  • Furthers EH&S knowledge through various avenues including seminars and workshops
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving site safety culture
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental or Natural Sciences or other related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in manufacturing plant EH&S Engineering level
  • Familiarity with accident investigation and prevention
  • Industrial hygiene certification is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to set a vision, work through change and develop and drive a tactical plan which supports the strategic vision
  • Known for capacity to propose and implement innovative and realistic ideas

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of pertinent EH&S regulations
  • Problem-solving skills in order to find the right solutions to EH&S issues
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills.  Must have people skills to establish relationships with people at all levels in the organization
  • Result-orientation – must have a sense of urgency to follow up on corrective measures to implementation and drives on the right issues

Other Qualifications:

  • Must meet the requirements to work in a U.S. Foreign Trade Zone (as defined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection)
  • Occasional off shift work

Targed Pay Range: $70,000 - 110,000
