Manufacturing Systems Technician (3rd Shift)

This is a third shift position (11:000 PM to 7:30AM). Some paid weekday and weekend overtime is required.

The supervisor job requires a combination of technical and supervisory skills to monitor, coordinate, and supervise the daily activities of non-exempt personnel in several complex chemical manufacturing processes. Coaches and encourages employees through daily interactions and through development planning process. Supervises and leads employees to meet organization objectives. Uses supervisor training and process knowledge to identify, evaluate, and resolve various interrelated problems.

Acquires and applies detailed knowledge of Lexmark's products, processes, and people. Regularly adapts current computer applications, work procedures, techniques, tools, materials and equipment, to meet business needs.

Decisions have significant impact on personnel and on timeliness and accuracy of critical information and data; meeting quality, quantity and deadline objectives, and improving the working environment for Lexmark employees.

Desired candidate attributes:

Excellent interpersonal skills
Toner work experience or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or technology
Basic understanding of chemical process concepts.
Experience with design of experiments involving multiple variables and evaluation of experimental results
Demonstrated competence involving critical thinking, process problem solving, and collaborative continuous process improvement
Formal training and experience in Lean techniques, Six Sigma, and quality systems is helpful.
Plans and coordinates operations to meet production schedule, product standards, and operational costs.
Prepares production, personnel, and financial reports.
Establishes operating policies and procedures.
