LEXMARK SMART CARD AUTHENTICATION Readme for version 2.0.2 1. OVERVIEW This Readme file pertains to the current release of the LEXMARK SMART CARD AUTHENTICATION suite of applications. Lexmark Smart Card Authentication is a collection of Embedded Solutions Framework (eSF) applications used to ensure that only authorized users can access and use restricted printer functions. The applications work together to allow authorized users to log in to a printer and securely perform common tasks, including sending e-mail and releasing print jobs. Smart Card Authentication includes the following applications: * SMART CARD AUTHENTICATION version 2.0.5 This application manages the licensing for all applications in the bundle that require a license to run. * SMART CARD AUTHENTICATION CLIENT version 2.0.2 This application lets you secure access to printers by requiring users to log in using a smart card or a user name and password. * DISPLAY CUSTOMIZATION version 4.2.32 This application can be secured through Smart Card Authentication Client to provide a secure idle screen. * SECURE E-MAIL version 2.0.1 This application runs in place of the standard printer e-mail function and lets users digitally sign and encrypt e-mail sent from the printer. This application is available only in multifunction printers. * SECURE HELD PRINT JOBS version 3.0.24 This application lets users send print jobs to a secure print release queue on the printer. 2.
