Add a remote network printer

A remote subnet is another network that is connected to your local area network. Use the Advanced menu on the Lexmark 2200 Series Utility to add a network capable printer in your printer list.

Note: You cannot use your All-In-One as a network printer if it is attached to a remote subnet. You can only use your All-In-One as a network printer if it is attached to your local area network (local subnet.) Use Printer Sharing to configure your All-In-One to be shared by other users connected to your local area network. For help, see Networking.

From the Printer Selection dialog:

  1. Open the Lexmark 2200 Series Utility.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of your screen, choose Advanced.
  3. Click Select Printer. The Printer Selection dialog is displayed.
  4. Click Add Remote.
  5. From the Add Remote Printer dialog, you can:
  1. Click OK to go back to the Printer Selection dialog.
  2. Select your All-In-One from the list on the Printer Selection dialog.
  3. Click Select.
  4. Continue on to Add your All-In-One to the printer list.

From the Network Printer Configuration dialog:

  1. Open the Lexmark 2200 Series Utility.
  2. From the menu bar at the top of your screen, choose Advanced.
  3. Click Network Printer Configuration. The Network Printer Configuration dialog is displayed.
  4. Click Add Remote.
  5. From the Add Remote Printer dialog, you can:
  1. Click OK to go back to the Network Printer Configuration dialog.
  2. Select your All-In-One from the list on the Network Printer Configuration dialog.
  3. Click Done.
  4. Continue on to Add your All-In-One to the printer list.
