Replace the print cartridges

Your All-In-One uses the following cartridges:

Left cartridge carrier:

Color cartridges

Right cartridge carrier:

Black cartridges

Remove the print cartridges

  1. Make sure the Power light is on.
  2. Lift the scanner unit until the scanner support is fully extended. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy.

  3. Lift the lids.



  4. Lift the cartridges out of the carriers. Store them in an airtight container or dispose of them properly.

  5. Snap the lids closed.

  6. Lift the scanner while pushing the scanner support back, and then lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed.

Install the print cartridges

  1. Make sure the Power light is on.
  2. Lift the scanner unit until the scanner support is fully extended. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy.

  3. Lift the lids.



  4. If you are installing new cartridges, remove the stickers and transparent tape from the bottom of the cartridges.

    Warning: Do not touch or remove the gold contact area on the back and bottom of each print cartridge.
  5. Insert the black cartridge in the right carrier, and the color cartridge in the left carrier. Make sure both cartridges are secure in the carrier.

  6. Snap the lids closed.

  7. Lift the scanner while pushing the scanner support back, and then lower the scanner unit until it is completely closed. The scanner unit must be closed to start a print job.

  8. After installing the cartridges, open the Lexmark 2200 Series Utility.
  9. Click the Install/Change Cartridge button.
  10. Follow the instructions on the screen and click Continue. The Cartridge Verification dialog is displayed.
  11. Select the part numbers of the cartridges you installed. For help on cartridge part numbers, see Maintaining your print cartridges.
  12. Select Yes, it is old if the cartridge has been used before, or No, it is new if the cartridge has not been used before. If an old cartridge is incorrectly identified as a new cartridge, ink levels in the utility dialog may be incorrect.
  13. Click OK.
