Alter the appearance of an image

Adjust scan settings and use the crop function of your All-In-One to make changes to an image. Cropping can highlight or downplay certain portions of an image, while adjusting the settings lets you control image quality.

To adjust scan settings and then crop an image:

  1. Load your document on the scanner glass.
  2. Open the Lexmark All-In-One Center.

  1. On the Scan tab, go to Custom Settings and change the scan settings according to your preference. You can adjust color depth, resolution, and set a descreen option.
  2. Click Preview, and then select the Adjustments tab.
  3. Change the settings in the Adjustments tab according to your preference. You can adjust settings for brightness, contrast, gamma, blur or sharpen, opt to invert colors, mirror left or right, or rotate your image.
  4. After adjusting the scan settings to your satisfaction, click Preview again to see the results of the changes you made on the image.
  5. Do a manual cropping to select the portion you want to scan:
    1. Click inside the preview area. This turns off the auto-cropping mechanism.
    2. Click and drag the crop area to select the part of the photo that you want scanned or copied. Drag the dashed border to expand or contract the crop area.
    3. Click Preview to apply your settings and refresh the image on the preview area.
    4. Click Scan.
