Copying documents in black and white

From the control panel

  1. Load paper into the paper support.
  2. Load an original document on the scanner glass.
  3. Press Mode until the Copy light comes on. From here, you can:
    • Press Page Preview to view the document on the control panel display.
    • Press Resize to enlarge or reduce the image. Use the left (-) and right (+) arrows to choose a preset enlargement or reduction value. Press Select.
    • Press Number of Copies. Use the left (-) and right (+) arrows to scroll through the numbers. Press Select.
  4. Press Menu to open the Copy menu. Adjust the settings as needed.
  5. Press Black.

From the Lexmark 4300 Series Center

  1. Load paper into the paper support.
  2. Load an original document on the scanner glass.
  3. Open the Lexmark 4300 Series Center.
  4. Select the Copy tab.
    1. From the Quantity & Copy Type area, choose either Grayscale for documents with graphic content, or Black for text-only documents.
    2. Customize the rest of the settings in the Copy tab as needed.
  5. Click Preview/Edit for more copy options on the Copy dialog.
    1. On the Settings tab:
      • Make sure that your selection for copy type in the Copy tab dialog is reflected (Grayscale or Black).
      • Select a copy quality.
      • Descreen, if needed.
    2. Select the Adjustments tab, and customize the settings as needed.
    3. Select the Finishing tab, and customize the settings as needed.
  6. Click Copy.
