The optional Intelligent Storage Device consolidates storage and solution enablement into a single integrated option, eliminating the need for separate solutions or daughter cards. It supports running multiple solutions at the same time, such as fonts and IPDS, without requiring additional hardware. Depending on configuration, the ISD is required to enable advanced features and workflows, including OCR and expanded solution storage.

The Intelligent Storage Device helps protect information stored on the device by keeping data locked and secure by default. When the device is removed or retired, stored data is safely cleared so it can’t be accessed later. For organisations with stricter security needs, storage features can be turned off to limit how information is saved on the device.

The optional Intelligent Storage Device provides solid‑state flash storage with a minimum capacity of 128 GB, delivering faster access to stored data and improved device responsiveness compared to traditional spinning hard drives.
