Our partnership

Lexmark and The PGA of America have been sharing the links together since Lexmark supported the 2008 Ryder Cup with printing technology and solutions. Our partnership has continuously grown, and now Lexmark manages mission-critical operations to keep the Senior, Women’s and PGA Championships and U.S.-based Ryder Cups performing with accuracy and efficiency.

Lexmark at the PGA Championship

Lexmark stands at the center of arguably the most time-sensitive process of the championship events: naming the winner. With 100% accuracy, our customized scan application instantly scans and captures scorecard data. This information is simultaneously distributed to multiple locations on the golf course including the scoring office, course scoreboard and broadcast media center. It is this moment that confirms the winner.

With approximately 75 Lexmark devices located on each championship course, nearly 200,000 pages are printed over the span of tournament action. Lexmark devices offer the capability to print on a wide variety of paper types, a feature perfectly suited for the unique printing needs to host a championship. Parking passes, ground passes and food vouchers are just a few examples.

Lexmark is one of the first PGA partners onsite to help set up for the operational needs of each PGA Championship event we support. On the links, in the back office or on the front line, Lexmark’s hardware and software solutions are a driving factor behind the IT infrastructure at every point in the championship.

Our sustainability story

To offset the environmental impact of paper consumption at each championship, Lexmark partners with The PGA of America to plant trees in communities where the events take place.

Lexmark and The PGA of America collaborated to achieve our goal of planting more than 2,000 trees by The PGA of America’s 100th Anniversary in 2016. The partnership has grown to be an ongoing part of the PGA’s community commitment where its championships are held. The true success of these events has been the involvement with and beneficial impact on local communities.
