With responsibilities across various geographies and business areas, this Visual Experience Designer position offers unique exposure to cutting-edge interactive development, pioneering technology design and best-in-class user experience methods.    

The VX Designer should embrace the key factors that contribute to great user experiences and demonstrate their trade expertise by adhering to standard industry processes and best practices. This Visual Designer will innovate and execute design solutions for a variety of user interfaces such as touch displays, mobile, desktop, and web. This VX designer will engage with the UX team to execute on full spectrum of design practices including research, requirements gathering, concept development, generating specs and design documentation. Key credentials include top-notch interpersonal and communication skills for global and cross-functional collaboration from management to research development, marketing, and product teams. 

The goals of this position are to design both functional and appealing features that address users’ needs and delight users, advocate for user-centered online experiences, and ensure continuity across Lexmark enterprise applications and websites.  

Roles and Responsibilities:             

  • Bring to life creative ideation process with wireframing, mock-ups and prototypes 

  • Collaborate with Research and Development, Marketing and Sales teams to learn about user demographics, motivations, pain points and goals   

  • Identify and support key design opportunities with an acute understanding of the needs and expectations of Lexmark users, customers, and partners 

  • Translate customer and user research insights into thoughtful, relevant, and useful design 

  • Lead design ideation process for specific software offers, while working closely with UX designers on team through design and execution process 

  • Generate storyboards and user workflows for imaging tasks 

  • Develop, enforce, and advocate style guidelines and documentation to maintain brand value  

  • Ensure user experiences align with business priorities and goals 

  • Balanced awareness of business priority needs with timely execution 

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within and across the team(s) 

  • Translate requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns and attractive user interfaces 

  • Design individual screens and make layout decisions with regards to visual design elements delivering intuitive experiences 

  • Design interface elements such as navigational components, widgets, tabs and informational components 

  • Ensure all layouts work well across a range of different screen sizes

  • Proficient in Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign  

  • Experience with Power BI styling & custom themes helpful 

  • This role supports a larger team proficient with CSS, XML, or other related tools, exposure to those tools a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Interaction Design or a similar degree  

  • 3 years working in a related field  

  • Motion and interactive experience 

  • Proven ability to deliver visual assets which elevate customer experience  

  • Able to support brand styleguides and identify and add value to Lexmark branded products  

  • Experience creating and promoting design ideas based on fundamental design principles, industry trends 

  • Able to thrive in both individualized and team-oriented work with skill proficiency to deliver in a fast-paced environment
