Print remains an integral and important business function, and paper is entrenched in most business processes today. Even as companies move towards digital transformation, printing infrastructure must be modernized without sacrificing security, usability and manageability and allow customers to track usage across the organization. All this functionality helps customers and organizations drive proactive output management and data-driven decision making.

Lexmark printers already support the printing protocols, like Secure IPP and IPP Everywhere, that allow users to find, connect with and print to printers on their network without the use of a driver. The Lexmark Cloud Print Management for Chrome extension provides access from Chrome OS to Lexmark’ s Cloud Print Management services for printing.

These print management services allow the user to send documents from their Chrome device and print them on any supported Lexmark printer. Instead of "pushing" documents to a designated printer—where the pages sit out in public view until retrieved—the user can "pull" the document from the print queue after logging in or swiping their ID card at the printer. The Chrome device is not tethered to a single printer and the user can release their print job from a printer that is most convenient, or from one with the features or capabilities that best support the output requirements.

Lexmark enables users to seamlessly send documents on any supported Lexmark printer via its Cloud Print Management platform. For more information on Lexmark Cloud Print Management, contact me, Randall Washington, or learn more here at Lexmark.com.
