The Local Agent is a new Fleet Management agent for managing USB-connected printers through Cloud Fleet Management.  Joins the Native Agent, Fleet Agent, and Printer Agent as a CFM Agent.

The Local Agent is an application configured and installed on a host computer that has USB-attached printers.  It enrolls locally attached printers from Lexmark to LCS.  Uses Internet of Things (IoT) connection to communicate with Lexmark Cloud Services (LCS).

[Enhancement] Printer Agent support for IoT (AB79664)

Printer Agent version 3.0.19 supports Lexmark’s continued investment in Internet of Things (IoT) technology.   The Printer Agent joins the Native Agent and the Fleet Agent in their use of IoT technology and CFM’s progression to a full IoT implementation. The Printer Agent has been enhanced to use IoT technology as the default path to send Asset Inventory (meters, counters, and supplies data) to CFM.

Note: The Printer Agent will revert to the prior https interface if IoT access is blocked.

To allow the Printer Agent to use the IoT interface, these additional IoT hosts must be added to existing firewall or proxy Allow Lists.

[Feature] Guest Print for Cloud Print Management (AB81673)

Guest Print for Cloud Print Management (CPM) provides organizations with the option of allowing guests of their organization to submit and securely release print jobs at any Lexmark device supporting CPM PIN release. All e-mail submissions from registered and guest users of the organization will use the same organization-specific e-mail address. No additional infrastructure is required.

Guest users receive a PIN for releasing their print job in response to the e-mail submission.  Guest users only have ability to release their submitted print jobs.  They do not have access to the Lexmark Cloud Service portal or CPM portal.

Note: The CPM Organizational Policy for e-mail submission will be disabled for all organizations.  A Print Release Administrator must re-enable it if used in their organization. When e-mail submission is enabled, an organization-specific e-mail address must be chosen.  For more information see

Updates have been made to the root certificates used by Lexmark Cloud Services.  Printer applications must have the minimum versions listed below installed to communicate with Lexmark Cloud.

·    Printers enrolled in Cloud Fleet Management (CFM) using the Printer Agent require the following minimum version of the Printer Configuration Agent.  Printers with older Printer Configuration Agent versions must be re-enrolled in CFM.

     ·         Printer Configuration Agent (all generations): 2.1.20 or later

·    Printers using Cloud Print Management (CPM) require the following application minimum versions.  Printers with older application versions can be updated by redeploying a configuration containing the CPM bundle from within CFM.

     ·         Cloud Authentication (current firmware generation): 5.4.12 or later

     ·         Cloud Authentication (all previous firmware generations): 2.4.16 or later

     ·         Device Usage (all generations): 2.3.9 or later

     ·         Print Release (current firmware generation): 5.6.3 or later

Lexmark is ending support for the older (pre-2020) v2 hybrid Cloud Print Management protocol. This protocol is used by the Lexmark Print Management Client (LPMC) from Windows or Mac workstations. Customers using v2 hybrid should update to the latest LPMC and v3 hybrid (which was made available in January 2020) which offers better performance and supports document accounting in Lexmark Cloud.  

The updated version of the LPMC client software is available on the Print Management > Client Download page.
